Botox, Xeomin, & Dysport
Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport are all variants of botulinum toxin. The concept behind botulinum toxin is simple. The toxin causes muscles to relax. Wrinkles are caused by contraction of muscles. If you inhibit the contraction of overused muscles, then they cannot wrinkle. All three are affective. It is the personal preference of the injector on which one is used. At UNPC Medical Aesthetics we provide our patients with a variety of injectable and other treatments to help keep them looking and feeling their best.
Botox
BOTOX injectable is a safe and simple technique to help you look more youthful. Results can last as long as six months. Many of out patients achieve optimal results by returning for additional treatment. The great news is BOTOX carries no recovery time. Our patients appear younger and refreshed, all without surgery.
BOTOX has also been proven to be effective for migraines, involuntary eye twitching, excessive perspiration under the arms and muscle spasms.
Dysport
Dysport, like Botox, is a type of botulinum toxin. While commonly used to treat muscle spasms in certain health conditions, it is primarily used for the treatment and prevention of wrinkles. Dysport differs from Botox in the type of carrier proteins it utilizes, which often results in quicker onset of results. As far as long-term results, there has been no study confirming the superiority of one over the other.
Xeomin
Xeomin is like BOTOX and Dysport in that it is an injectable form of Botulinum Toxin A. However, there are no preservative proteins in Xeomin, allowing it to bind to the muscles immediately, yielding quicker results. Additionally, Xeomin does not contain any additives, reducing the rare situation in which the body develops antibodies to the product. We consider Xeomin to be the “Whole Foods” of botox and is the preferred Botulinum Toxin A in our office.
At UNPC Medical Aesthetics patients are scheduled for one-on-one to determine the best anti-aging treatment for them and to develop a detailed treatment plan. We understand that each person is an individual-and each has individual aesthetic and beauty goals that they hope to achieve. That is why at our office, we take the time to get to know our patients and what they hope to achieve through treatment.
